Tamusha

The meaning of the name of my office is being colored, being painted or putting gold leaf. Our ancestors prayed when they made goods and draw Buddhist pictures. People have been praying since the day of the introduction of Buddhism into Japan. The prayer is spreading now.

Kirikane

截金教室

Kirikane Class

Kirikane is a traditional technique to put gold leaf less than 1mm on paper or board. It was brought to Japan with Buddhism. It has decorated the statues of Buddha.

Information

We have Kirikane Class in Hokuto City, Kofu City and Kagurazaka. We have trial class for the beginners. Tools for Kirikane are prepared for trial class. After you join the class regularly, you need material costs for the course.
Schedule of the class is subject to change.

Nagasaka Class

Date and time : 2nd Saturday 13:30-16:00
Monthly fee : 3,000yen (with annual membership fee)

Giun-in Temple Class

Kagurazaka Class

Date and time : 1st Thursday 13:00-15:00,15:00-17:00/ 2nd Sunday 10:00-12:00, 12:00-14:00, 14:30-16:30(up to 6 people)
Monthly fee : 4,000yen

Shabutsu Class

Shabutsu Class

Shabutsu is to drawing a picture of Buddha. Copy the figure of Buddha below and draw it with ink. After that you paint it. We use the same figure but Buddha’s paintings are different for each person.

Ozawa Akiko Profile – Tamusha

Graduated from the Japanese Painting Course at Kyoto University of Art and Design. Began studying under Buddhist painter Gen Adachihara at the age of 13. While in college, studied Kirikane under Living National Treasure Sayoko Eri. After graduation, continued creating Buddhist paintings and Kirikane works under Adachihara. Since 2013, has been teaching Kirikane classes in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Subsequently, I began Kirikane classes in Kofu and Kagurazaka, as well as Buddhist painting classes in Yamanashi, Shizuoka, and Kagurazaka. / 2019: Group exhibition “Onko Shoshin Exhibition.” 2020: “Kirikane—Kirikane Class Exhibition” at the Yamanashi Prefectural Library. 2021: “〇e・n Exhibition—Kintsugi × Kirikane” at AYUMIGALLERY in Kagurazaka. 2022: “Kirikane” at CoucouCAFE in Hokuto City. “〇e・n Exhibition ~ Kintsugi × Kirikane × Mountain Flower Shop ~” in Matsumoto and Yamanashi City. 2023: “Kirikane & Buddhist Painting Exhibition ~ Circling Again ~” at Nonohana in Kofu City. 2025: Two-person exhibition “blanc et or—White and Gold—” at Galerie Igreg in Hokuto City. /  NPO corporation ”Mandara Inori Shabutsu no kai” teacher.
